Chestnut Montessori School is a small, nurturing, child-centered community where children develop a love of learning. Located on the border of Kirkland and Bellevue, our campus is a former orchard with beautiful historic chestnut trees, a variety of conifers, fruit trees, flowering plants, gardens, a large play yard and a nature walk.
Our family-friendly school provides exceptional Montessori Early Childhood (ages 2 1/2 through 6) and Elementary (ages 6 through 9) education on a beautiful campus. Students develop a love of learning under the guidance of nurturing and highly educated staff. All classroom teachers hold credentials from the American Montessori Society. Our mission is to provide a nurturing Montessori environment where children thrive.
Our three classrooms are spacious with large windows which provide an abundance of natural light. Our staff and home-like setting provides an environment that supports the social, emotional, intellectual and developmental needs and abilities of each child.

Chestnut Montessori School was founded in 2008 by Jeannine Hanson to fulfill her dream of a Montessori school where children, parents, teachers and teachers-in-training could learn and grow in an ideal and peaceful Montessori setting.
Your child can experience the joys of childhood and build fond memories while learning at Chestnut Montessori School.
As an AMS school, we follow the principles and practices established by the American Montessori Society. Please call or email if you would like to arrange a personal tour.
